This monument is the medieval castle of Montrichard, next to the Loire Valley, in France. The river we can see is called Le Cher, it leads to the royal river, La Loire, after several kilometers.
I took this photograph in August while the stars were visible at night. This is one of my first astrophotography shot, and one of my favourite because I have grown in this town.
About its history, this castle was built by the Lord Foulques Nerra during the XIth century. It is categorized on the Historical Monuments list.
The dungeon offers a beautiful panorama over the valley and the surrounding fields of the Touraine region.
