Less than 500,000 years ago, polar bears and brown bears diverged from evolutionary paths. This divergence challenged these species to adapt to the climates of the North: the arctic and ecosystems from the fringes of the deserts to the high mountains, forests and tundra. They not only survive and but thrive as masters of sea ice, intrepid explorers whose kingdoms constantly change, ebb and flow.

In a single moment a mother bear can be loving to fierce, ready to fight for her cub.

A juvenile polar bear pauses from running on the ice to look up at the ship passing through its home.

Polar bears traverse their ice kingdoms with respect, strength, and grace. As the ice changes, they must adapt, taking each stride with calculation and grace.
