Science tells us that many birds use a magnetic compass in their eye for navigation and there is evidence that a salmon's homing instinct may be driven by particles of magnetite. Collectively these two species give us a keen insight into the mysterious innate skills of animals to outsmart predators threats. Such inherent navigational skills allow animals to return to the same geographic area where they were born, with some migrating thousands of miles.
