This monument is the medieval castle of Montrichard, next to the Loire Valley, in France. The river we can see is called Le Cher, it leads to the royal river, La Loire, after several kilometers.
I took this photograph in August while the stars were visible at night. This is one of my first astrophotography shot, and one of my favourite because I have grown in this town.
About its history, this castle was built by the Lord Foulques Nerra during the XIth century. It is categorized on the Historical Monuments list.
The dungeon offers a beautiful panorama over the valley and the surrounding fields of the Touraine region.

Montrichard under the stars

This photograph was taken during a very special starry night, from the garden of the castle of Chenonceau, next to the Loire Valley, in France. This monument crosses the river of Le Cher and it is one of the most original piece of architecture from France. Many events are organized in its great gallery, including haute couture shows and patisserie presentations. Chenonceau sits in the Touraine region, where a unique terroir has been developped since many centuries with incredible varieties of wines.

This cat came to us from the woods. Such a cute feline, but not an easy task to photograph as it was very excited and looking for caress. I have taken this portrait while he was seeing something moving nearby.
